WOODLANDS FULL PRIMARY SCHOOL
Woodlands is a place that most Southerners drive through from time to time. Woodlands Full Primary School can
be spotted in the distance from SH1. Turn left at the church and monument when driving towards Invercargill.
Woodlands is only 17 kms from Invercargill, a short 8 minute drive to the eastern edge of the city. Because of this our
students, families and staff are fortunate to enjoy the best of both worlds- being in the country but not too far from
town where many extra opportunities can be accessed.
We would like to share a little bit about Woodlands Full Primary School. Many readers may know someone living
within the school's thriving and very supportive wider community. Our school is very much part of this community.
Within the Woodlands township there are several businesses and community groups with strong connections to the
school. Some of these include the butchery, garage, engineering firm, transport companies, sports clubs (including the
Galbraith Shield winning club!!), cubs & scouts, church, Rural Women and the Woodlands Community Development
Association. We are also lucky enough to be in close proximity to Longbush Rural Kindergarten.
At the heart of Woodlands Full Primary School you will find:
• 106 happy students from 65 families, aged from Year 0-8.
• A team of 8 teachers (Principal, 5 full-time and 2 part-time) and 4 support staff (Office Manager, 2 Teacher-Aides
and a Groundsperson)
• A committed and very involved Board of Trustees and PTA
• 5 busy classrooms
• A utility room/ hall, library, swimming pool and two popular playgrounds
• Spacious and attractive grounds
What are we about?
