What's happening in the Gore Library?
On behalf of Councillors and all the staff at the Gore District Council I want to wish everyone a happy and safe Christmas and New Year. For many of us the festive season is about
taking time out with family and friends, unwinding and recharging our batteries for next year. Whatever Christmas means to you, I hope it fulfils all your expectations and more.
If you have visited the Gore library lately you will have noticed
that staff are getting ready for the new shelves, due to be
installed in February, by fixing up a few things and having the
The work will create a fresh new look but there may be some
disruption or noise.
While contractors are working there will be days when
safety barriers exclude people from some areas of the
library. This month the children's area is being
re-papered and in February work will be in the young adult
and adult areas.
If you can't get to where you want to go, please ask for
assistance. It is important to be aware of what is happening
around you and keep yourself and all children safe.
At this stage it looks like the library will be closed from 19
February to 23 February. The closure period is being kept to a
minimum and library goers will have a wonderful new layout to
look forward to when it reopens.
District library manager Lorraine Weston-Webb and her staff
want to thank people in advance for their patience while the
work is being carried out.
The Gore District Council wishes to
