While Jax didn t take out the
title of New Zealand
Master Chef in 2011, her
commendable runner-up position
took her into the hearts of many
New Zealanders who today enjoy
and benefit from her helpful tips
and advice on cooking and of
course her tasty recipes through
the Countdown television
Jax will be in the south over the
weekend of the West Otago A and
P show, her expertise and
knowledge to the fore as she steps
into the role of Judge and the
challenge of deciding which baking
entry is THE best in each of the
categories: Children s section and
Open Sponge Section .
Rumour has it that competition is
very strong in the Open Sponge
Section and challenged by many a
great baker in the West Otago
region. Jo Morris from Waikoikoi
has won this category for the past
three years in a row, and there
needs to be a bit of competition to
take that title off her!
The challenge is on!
The West Otago A and P Show has
never before had the privilege of
hosting a top level judge to fulfil
this role, and they are delighted to
be able to link into Jax s skills for
While in the West Otago area for

Shoppers Market at Show
While an A and P Show has many traditional events and aspects which bring
the rural and urban communities together, it is also a wonderful opportunity
to take advantage of all the superb products available through the many stalls
set up on site.
Last year, the 100Th West Otago A
and P was matched by almost that
exact number of stalls -- 100 in total.
This made it a Shoppers paradise under
the marquees which were set up to
house them all - in the shopping precinct
of the PGG WRIGHTSON SHOW
This year, the challenge has been to
emulate this popular section of the
annual West Otago A and P Show.
With everything from craft work,
clothing, jewellery and chutneys through
to plants and gardening gear, this
Shopping site will provide a fantastic
chance to find something a little special
either for yourself or as a gift for a friend.
And with Christmas just a matter of
weeks away, it is a superb opportunity to
do some early Christmas shopping and to
find a gift which is just a little bit different
for that person who is often hard to buy
Also in this relaxed environment will be
some very tasty food sites where hunger
pangs can be soothed and perhaps the
chance to meet up with friends you
haven t seen for a while.
