THANK YOU TO OUR NEWSLETTER SPONSORS
Attitude is everything
CHARM -- Communication, Honesty, Attitude, Responsibility, Manners
FIRSTLY, a big thank you to Newslink for providing Mossburn School
with this opportunity to celebrate our children's successes. Also to our
kind sponsors (displayed below) for once again helping out.
Our wonderful teaching staff of Chantal McClean (Deputy Principal),
Paula Marrah, Tanya Day, Helen Quirke and Lauren Russell continue to
provide quality teaching (and stated by ERO of late). The School is also
very fortunate by having an experienced support staff consisting of
Bronwyn Beer, Midge Webb, Jan Manson, Honorine Orchard, Megan
Carter, Janet Cloake and Vanessa Te Whata.
We're currently knocking on the door of 70 children and our projected
2013 roll is looking similar. As a school, we've been focusing on
improving writing, especially with our boys. The children continue to
be exposed to a variety of learning opportunities, keeping an eye on
getting the basics right in literacy and numeracy.
The school is ticking along nicely. We've recently had a lot of property
improvements: new covered area, all classrooms upgraded, toilet
upgrades, double glazed windows, new gates and fencing and an
extension to our admin block.
Our children continue to be absolute gems. We're very proud of all
our children's achievements. And our parents continue to support the
school where possible. Term 4 is just a round the corner and it will be
another busy time for all.

Cross Country - Gareth Reid came first in his
age group in a recent Southland meet. He ran
2.5km. Next weekend is his last race, (3.5km)
and we'll find out where he has come overall
in the competition. I believe there are five
children competing for top honours.
Mid-Dome Cross Country held at Garston.
Mountain View High School Visit: The Mountain View High
School Jazz Band from Timaru came and performed in front
of the whole school. A fantastic opportunity for all our children
and hopefully it may inspire more to play a musical instrument.
Ashlee had the opportunity (impromptu) to demonstrate her
guitar skills and put on a wonderful performance -- they were
impressed! Keiran, Kane and Heidi pictured playing the drums.
